To change between the different lighting modes, this requires a short press only Mode 1: Light is at 25% brightness (250lm) until dawn Mode 2: Light is at 10% brightness (100lm) + motion sensor for 30 seconds when activated Mode 3: Light remains on until motion sensor is activated for 30 seconds until motion has stopped [best for winter] Mode 4: Light is at full brightness (1000lm) until dawn.

Our lights work best in south-facing positions, having it in an alternative direction will make it much harder for the light to receive a full charge. 

I would not place this anywhere that the panel will be partially shaded, the reason for this is in the winter months when you have very little sun, it will just not recieve the charge to run that mode during the winter period. 

Please see below the lighting modes. The Mode you can can use Mode 1 or 4. But I would look at the location of the where the light will be based to make sure that decision, if it is a shaded location then your light might not recieve adequate charge for it to run that mode during the winter period.
