Our lights work best when placed in direct sunlight, however all our lights are designed to work in the UK winter, run time will be reduced as less sunlight will be available.

I am unsure what you mean, but I will try to answer. The light is alway in solar mode as it charges the rechargeable batteries via the solar panel.
