This light is a dusk till dawn light so it will come on automatically at dusk and turn off again at dawn, however it does have an on/off button so you can turn this off if you do not wish to have this switched on all night.

The Hadleigh light has a solar panel on the very top of the unit, meaning that part would require regular sun exposure for large portions of the day in order to operate properly. If the location has any form of heavy cover or shadow, the light will not be working at its optimal rechargeability and therefore may fail to switch on.

There is a possibility that if external, ambient lighting is reaching the panels, the lights may be triggered into staying off due to the photocell detecting light which would happen during daylight hours, and therefore not switch on.

We dont advise this as it won't charge efficiently as placing it directly outside in direct sunlight, it would take much longer to charge through a window glass so we advise making the charging process more efficient and quicker to place it directly outside.
