The PIR version is more than 3 times brighter as the light is only when movement is detected. PIR version is 50 Lumens vs 16 Lumens for the non PIR. Power saving mode basically halves the output.

More often than not it comes to a style preference however the Kodiak's will edge the winter performance as the solar panel can be angled to capture more light when the sun is low in the sky.
