The Shard is a reinforced plastic unit. 

Hi Rico, Thank you for your message, we have lights that would have the battery in the Solar panel and some in the light itself. With our Shard you can do exactly that. As the battery is inside the panel you can place it in a different position let it charge in the sun and connect it back to the light when fully charged. 

Hi Chris, Thank you for your message, if you have decking then these can be screwed into the wood but if you want to place them into soil you can use the spike this is not as secure as screws unfortunately 

Hi Chris, You can screw our Shard to deckinging, we also provide a spike that you can poke into soil 

You can either spike it in or it can be screwed to the ground.
