Yes, the spikes are detachable however we wouldn't recommend using the lights inside.

It connects the battery to the lighting circuit. With the switch set to on the lights will turn on automatically at dusk. If the switch is off the lights will not operate at any time.

The Solar Glow Posts are connected by a cable: They are daisy-chain with 1m of cable between each light (with 1.5m from the solar panel to the first light). The wire eventually goes back to the solar panel in a starburst or big "O" pattern.
