Hello Pete.
Thank you for your question, the Truro wall light is 40 Lumens bright.
the is light does need a battery, it comes with one already installed. You can switch it on/off using the switch on the underside of the light (you will need to unscrew the bottom of the light to get to this)
18650 battery chargers are available at most retailers that sell batteries. They can be found at reasonable prices at most DIY and Electrical retailers.
Thank you for your question. This depends on how much of the front door you are trying to light up. Customers use these to light up their door numbers. They will not light up the full door.
They are rechargeable AA batteries, ideally 600-900mAh
Great question. It comes with fixing plate and screws so it can be mounted onto the wall.
Please do unscrew the bottom of the light as if you were accessing the on/off button, then unscrew the deep seated screws on each corner, this should then release the plate, you will then see a battery compartment, please unscrew the two screws either side of the battery housing, you can then change the battery.
If you are having any issues please do get in touch with us!
Hi Helen, the batteries can be replaced and they are the 18650

Hi,
Yes, a rechargeable 18650 is fitted into the unit.
Thanks for your question. They are stainless steel screws.
Hi Christina, This light is a warm white
Hi Sally,
The Truro Solar Wall Lights uses rechargable AA batteries.
Good Morning.
I am afraid this light does have to be drilled into a wall for the unit to be able to stay up.
Hi There!
Thank you for your question.
If you unscrew the base then take a screwdriver to undo the screws the panel at the top will come off this is where the batteries are located!
Hi Michael. Please get in contact with our customer service team to show the area you would like to illuminate, they will be able to assist accordingly.
Hi Geoff!
Thank you for your question!
I am afraid we do not recommend placing the lights in a north-facing wall, we do recommend a south-facing to get the best use out of the light!
Hi, john.
Thank you for your question!
We do not recommend placing them in a north position, we recommend placing them in a south-facing position to get the best use out of the lights!
Hi Connor. Both non-motion versions of the Truro come with standard and powersaving modes. These lights have 1 LED and the batteries are AA rechargeable batteries.
The batteries are replaceable in these units. They are AA rechargeable batteries and can be found here.
Hi Sophie. These lights have 2 x AA rechargeable batteries.
Hi Warren.
Thank you for your question. You can access the battery compartment by removing the screws in the bottom and pulling out the top section. The newer models of these lights are AA rechargeable batteries.
Thank you for your question. These lights are the ones without a motion sensor. For the Truro motion light, please click here.
Hi Troy. The S is for standard mode, this is to be used in the summer and brighter months. The P is for powersaving mode, this setting is recommended for winter months. As your lights will be a little dimmer but run for a longer period of time.
The Truro wall light has the switches s,p and off whereas the motion light just has the on/off switch which explains the blank switch on the opposite side.
we do advise you to keep it left off while charging up to 5 days, if this does not work for you after doing this please contact [email protected] and we can help you from there
They are IP44 and are suitable for mounting to fence.
You will have to take the battery out of the unit and check with a voltage meter.
The batteries can be replaced easily if needed.
they run up to 10 hours from a full charge
Not if the carport has a roof, as the panels are on top of the light.
I am sorry for the confusion. The batteries have been changed recently.
This unit takes either AA rechargeable batteries or 18650 Li-ion battery depending on when you've bought it.
Both batteries are available on our website if you need to replace them.
Here are the links:
This is how this light should operate, it will stay on continuously.
I am afraid not. The Led's cannot be changed. This light comes only in a natural white colour.
Yes, you will need the AA rechargeable batteries.
1. It is a natural white colour
2. You could do that if you have a compatible charger. Alternatively, please keep the lights switched off for 3-5 days and the batteries will charge via solar energy.
There is a bracket/ wall fixing plate which you can use in order to attach the light on the wall.
As long as the voltage is the same that should not be a problem.
It is approximately 4.5cm
You can switch off the lights through the switch button. The lights will charge as long as there are exposed to direct daylight.
But the next evening you will have to switch them back on for them to illuminate.
On the other hand if you leave the lights swithced on, they will come on automatically every evening.
yes, you could do that.
The batteries that you need are: 2 x 1.2V 900mAh NiMh batteries
It is 40 Lumens.
This light needs to be placed on a South facing wall because the solar panel is integrated.
Yes, the on/off switch is under the light. You need to unscrew the bottom of the light.
There is no real benefit to popping the lights away, you can just place them on the 'p' setting and leave them all year round.
The light gives off a natural white colour
Please leave the light switched off for 3-5 days and allow it a decent base charge, this should increase the brightness. Please do also make sure that the setting is on S for summer, the P setting is duller and will help throughout winter.
The batteries have recently been change, I will make our IT team aware that this info needs to be updated, thank you!
These are natural white colour.
We have the Motion version here
The cannot be attached to a pole, it needs to be a flat surface.
Yes these can be fixed to posts.
The price is for one light as they come as a single.
Best thing is to let them fully charge for a few days then can switch to any position.
These are warm white and are 6000k.
The colour light for these is warm white.
P= power-saving mode and S= standard mode
Normal batteries cannot be used in the Truro, these need to be rechargeable and the same as the battery which is in the light already. We sell them here
That's correct, the light is either charging in daylight or switched on when low is to low to charge. You can switch the light off at night so it will only charge and not come on.
The lights are made of stainless steel, not marine grade so if you are very very close then there maybe some risk of corrosion, especially with the harsh salt air. The best bet is to get some WD40 (other brands are available!) to help create a barrier on top of the proofing on the product.
Yes this light can, customers have used this in their garden attached to fence posts and walls. It comes with all the neccesary fixtures and fittings.
The light will work up to 6 hours in Winter, this is based on a typical location and for it being in the 'p' mode, however it has been known to run for longer. The lights will need to be switched off initially and then left to charge in as much direct sunlight as possbile, after that switch them to the 'p' mode for winter or 's' if it is summer. The battery should not need changing for at least 2 years.
I would make sure to install as per instructions, if it were to fall off and become damaged due to the adhesive failing it would not be covered under warranty.
The S and P are marked on either side, so it's pre-set mode will be 'off' you then need to choose which one you would like it on. We recommend the 'p' setting for winter. To save on more plastic being used you will see a switch hole with no switch, but just focus on the part with the switch you can move.
This is the wall light version, so there is no PIR on this one. The Truro Motion can be found here
P = powers saving mode so if the light is in a poor location or during winter months then p is the best setting.
The size of the panel dictates the brightness of the light. A PIR light is only triggered with movement so can be easily twice as bright. The Truro motion is PIR only. You can switch if off but motion is needed to trigger the light.
The light is designed here in the UK for the UK. The angle increases the charge especially in winter months vs our solar light with flat/horizontal panels.
S=Standard mode and P=Powersaving mode
We are not able to say to will stay on until 8am as we don't know how much light will be reaching the panel. Our lights are designed for winter and the Truro has power saving mode which doubles the run time for winter months.
The Truro is warm/natural and not blue/cool.
We always recommend to switch them to the off position and leave the top to charge for 3 days.
Listed under features, the light is 40 Lumens.
It's very unlikely to interfere as the lux sensor (day or night) is in the panel at the top of the light and these lights are downlighters. The only reason you could have a problem would be if the light bounced off something and back on to the top.
We have had customers using this light for name/numbers plaque but the light points down not inwards. You may have to move the light and/or plaque to get the best results. Spotlights are also worth considering.
The LED colour temperature is 4000K making it a warm white light output.
In the current version the panel shouldn't have any film so please do not attempt to remove it as you'd be damaging the solar panel.
Please drop us an email or call with your details so we can check your order. To answer the question, the Truro has always had a diffuser and never had a clear lens.
The Truro should do this job fine, it'll light something up to approx 30cm across if there's a 5 - 10 cm gap between the sign and the installation of the light.
Please remove the film, this just to protect the panel in transit.
The diffuser is very easy to remove to get access to the switch. Non of our wall lights have external switches. Our floodlight RC is a remote control light. Maybe of a light with a PIR (motion sensor) would suit? The Truro Security Light could suit your needs.
Firstly, yes these are garden lights designed in the UK for the UK weather. The full list of countries we deliver to are listed here please contact us for a quote if you are not on the list.
It's very easy with just two holes required, you can see the fixing instructions here.
At least 2 - 3 years.
40 lumens.
The LED colour temperature is 4000K making it a warm white light output.
Yes, fixings are included in the box.
Yes, you can override this if you want with the on off switch but with the switch in the on postion they'll operate as you describe.
40 Lumen for the standard Truro and 80 for our motion activated version.
S = Standard mode and P = Power Saving mode
The colour temperature of this light is 4000k an idea of the colour temperature can be seen in the product video at the bottom of the page.
