Brilliant! Verified Purchase
Having previously purchased some much cheaper solar lights which only lasted a few weeks, I then bought 1 of these having read so many positive reviews, and it is certainly much more robustly made, so looks like it should last well. It was also easy to install, with just 2 screws involved, and having followed the instruction to leave it to charge for a few days, it is working well, and casts a very good light. The only slightly negative comment is that there's no mention of having to switch on the unit before being able to use the handset - it had me scratching my head to begin with.

Great reliable light Verified Purchase
I have two of these lights at our home in the sun and they have been there for two years and are as bright as when they were new, just remember to occasionally clean the solar panel, they are that good I have recently acquired another one to take out next time I go back.

Simple to install and use Verified Purchase
Really pleased with this purchase. Well made with a pleasing design. Looks great on the front of the house and does everything it says it will. Lovely aesthetic and safety addition to our house as the long nights of winter approach.

Pleasantly Surprised Verified Purchase
Would give 5 stars but only had the light for a week. We were pleasantly surprised at how much light there is on the lowest setting, especially at this time of year (Jan). Very easy to fix, charge and operate. Does the job of lighting the way to the garage perfectly. Also, reasonably priced.

Description

Unlike its siblings, the Eco Wedge Elite can also be operated on demand via remote control and can provide constant light from dusk till dawn. When in PIR mode this wireless solar motion light is fully automatic and will illuminate for 15 seconds each time it detects motion. The Eco Wedge Elite is ideal for lighting doorways, alleyways, entrances and pathways. The Eco Wedge Elite is IP65 rated for superior waterproofing.

  • Mode 1 (yellow indicator light on)
A low light is emitted after dusk. When motion is detected the lamp activates with full brightness and reverts to low light approx 15 seconds after motion stops.
  • Mode 2 (blue indicator light on)
When motion is detected after dusk the lamp activates at full brightness and turns off approx 15 seconds after motion stops. Recommended for Winter use or if the light is installed in a substandard location.
  • Mode 3 (red indicator light on)
After dusk the lamp illuminates at medium brightness and turns off after it runs out of charge or 10 hours, whatever comes sooner.
  • Mode 4 (yellow, blue and red indicator lights on)
After dusk the lamp illuminates at medium brightness. It switches to Mode 2 after the battery level drops below 60%. If the battery level is below 60% when selecting Mode 4, then the lamp will automatically switch to Mode 2.
  • Mode 5. (yellow, blue and red indicator lights flash on and off)
The lamp will illuminate at full brightness for 1 hour, even if it is still daylight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:
Our eco wedge elite keeps coming on and staying on. We have cleaned the solar panel top and that helped for a while but it keeps happening. Remote can’t get it to go off either last night.
By Heather on Mar 6,2024
Answer:

Hello,

It sounds like the light is set to Mode 3 (red indicator light on). Please switch to mode 1 or 2 if you would prefer the light to be exclusively motion activated.

Question:
I want to use the light on remote only, with the PIR disabled. One FAQ answer here says it cannot be done, and one says it can! Could you illuminate my confusion, please? Thanks
By Mary on Feb 9,2024
Answer:

Hello,

You would have to use Mode 3 (red indicator light on) in order to make the light turn on and off at will, however please note this makes the light run at medium brightness. Mode 3 means that ater dusk the lamp illuminates at medium brightness and turns off after it runs out of charge or 10 hours, whatever comes sooner.

Question:
Would like this fitted to an East facing wall, so no sunlight after midday, would this work?
By Andrew Kirby on Nov 27,2023
Answer:

I would strongly recommend that due to the integrated panel that this should really go on a south facing wall if possible or one that receives direct sunlight for a good portion of the day.
