excellent lasting powerVerified Purchase
Just bought another 1 of these. It's quite true it is very plasticky. I was a bit disappointed when I had the 1st 1 but I've had it 4 or 5 years and it's still going strong.Never changed the battery even.Only now is the 'glass' discolouring. It looks much better than it feels. I'd certainly recommend but agree it is a bit overpriced perhaps.Really useful if you want a light to see to put the key in the door etc. By lyn jones on Dec 10,2014

Happy CustomerVerified Purchase
Ordered as a present for my mum's Victorian house as most solar lights look too modern for the style of house. It was plasticky but I had read reviews so was expecting it, but as others have said I don't think it will notice once its up. Incredibly quick delivery given I didn't select "next day" but it still arrived the next day! Thank you. By Alison on Dec 7,2014

Not as good as the rest of the lights
I've purchased several lights from the solar centre recently and most of them have been very good. I particularly like the Canterbury lights.
Unfortunately this particular light is not up to the standards of the rest. It is very plasticky and the build quality is very poor. Considering this costs a lot more than the Canterbury lights I wasn't very happy.
It's not bad enough to warrant sending it back but I also wouldn't recommend anyone else buys it. At £20 it would be much more acceptable By Chris Riches on Nov 19,2014

Solar power security lightVerified Purchase
Pretty good for the money. Attractive. Light is quite bright but can't really say it would put off a potential intruder. Much mor plasticky than I was expecting but once installed that doesn't really notice By R Barcan on Sep 28,2014

Solar powered security lightVerified Purchase
This is a lovely solar lamp, which adds a touch of class to the outside of our house. PIR works well. By D Johnson on Jul 23,2014
The beauty of this light is that it can be stake or wall mounted. When stake mounted the light looks like any other high quality solar garden light but will suprise any unsuspecting intruders who won't anticipate it's hidden PIR functionality. The Solar Power Security Light looks fantastic when wall mounted and is ideal for front / back doors, garages and sheds. Once fully charge the light can activate up to 50 times during dark hours and will automatically charge the rechargeable Ni-MH batteries the following day.
The Solar Power Security Light is the ideal solution for customers looking for security and style in one light. Made with a stainless steel finish the PIR Solar Power Security Light includes a motion detector which will activate the light as soon as it detects movement.
The Solar Power Security Light doesn't require any wiring so you can position it anywhere that gets good access to direct sunlight and enjoy it with no operating costs.
Dimensions: approx 55cm (22 inches) tall when in the ground.
No. of LEDs: 9 (one operates the whole time at night, the other 8 come on when motion is detected)

The PIR Detection range is approximatley 5 to 8 metres from the light and 6ft is a typical height for installation so this should be true of your installation. The PIR is generally more sensitive the more charge the light has
