I have 4 sets of these lights and they light up feature plants beautifully with a warm white up light, which in summer continued throughout the night and now (autumn) keeps going well after midnight. I have not tried them on more distant trees. The lights are small and discrete and well made - being metal with strong well made fixings. Mounting the lights on the spikes is best done on a bench, using the allen key to hold the screw while turning the spike. Wires can easily be tucked between plants and are plenty long enough to ensure the solar panel is a sunny spot but you do need to remember where they when mowing or trimming. The 4 light set is excellent too, with a larger solar panel.

I researched a lot before buying these and am very happy with choosing these Atlas lights. I have uplit a large potted Japanese Maple with 2 lights and it now looks fantastic at night as well as day. They seem sturdily constructed so hopefully won't conk out in a few months like so many flimsy solars do once the rain penetrates the fitting. The quality of light is exactly what I wanted - a warm white, strong, but not overpowering. This is achieved on the economy setting (I haven't yet tried the less economic more powerful setting.) I had already purchased the 4 bulb set and decided I needed more! So I bought this 2 bulb set to even out the distribution in the garden. As the border is on the shady side, fitting the solar panels to the top of the fence posts has meant we catch all the sun during the day to charge these which last throughout the night on full brightness. My only one qualm with this and the 4 bulb set is why did they not allow for the bulbs to be daisy chained! Having individual connectors that have to go back to the panel makes it very restrictive in terms of cable length, especially if you need to put the panel high up, you lose most of the run length due to vertical drop for the cable. You can buy extensions, but usually these type of lights are set in some form of formation that makes it sensible to daisy chain them, even then with the extension the max length is shy of 10m which could be challenging for some.

We have a shady garden so being able to position the separate solar panel on top of a hedge to catch the most sun and put the lights in the middle bushes on the ground is fantastic. I noticed on this site (but haven't bought it) that Atlas do extensions to the leads giving even greater flexibility. So it is possible to get creative with the use of these bright lights. Of course for this money I expect them to last and work in winter; time will tell but the indications are good.
